Brain Injury Treatment Philosophy
FLEXIBLE INTERDISCIPLINARY TREATMENT (FIT)
FIT begins with an interdisciplinary assessment of client strengths and needs. In order to
address these idiosyncratic needs, tailored and sculptured treatment initiatives are put
into place. These are constantly fine-tuned, among our team members, as the needs of our
clients change.
CLIENT CENTERED TREATMENT (CCT)
Clarity in treatment focus is the priority at The Phoenix Network. Since our beginnings as
an organization, we have been inspired by the works of the renowned psychologist and
educator Dr. Carl R. Rogers. His writings and concepts inherent in Client Centered
Therapy, especially as it relates to “conditions of growth”, have become the
guiding constructs in our rehabilitation program. Creating an environment of positive
regard, empathetic understanding and congruence with our clients becomes our essential
focus.
Building upon this focus, our clinicians apply
multi-modal methods of treatment which are highly individualized to meet the needs and
strengths of our clients. We believe this to be an important innovation in ABI
rehabilitation.
WHOLISTIC TREATMENT FOCUS (WTF)
WTF attempts to address the possible fragmentation of professional services which can
occur when a client accesses a variety of treatments, one separate from the other. As an
alternative, WTF offers a constant collaborative climate among our health care
professionals. This type of collaboration occurs daily through professional
“fine-tuning” of treatment procedures and formally, in weekly clinical team
meetings. |
